Wireless Facts & Myths you missed today

We are living in a wonderful time, a time where almost every apparatus is capable of connecting to each other wirelessly. ‘The Internet of Things’, that is how many folks refer to the new age we are living in, and even though we’re still at its dawn it truly is amazing to see technology already improve this much. These inter connected devices have done nothing but make our lives much less inconvenient and being wireless makes them more easy to use and handle. Since none of us can avoid the reality of residing in a wireless world, I thought it will be interesting to dig out a few of the common myths and premises and let’s see they hold some truths in them or if they are just baseless.

Wireless devices emit electromagnetic waves which cannot be avoided unless you reside in a very remote place with no such technology. Nearly every dwelling has WiFi technology nowadays. As suitable and helpful wireless technology is in our daily lives, there’s also controversy surrounding it with respect to the ill- effects. Many studies have been done on wireless transmissions with scientists and doctors questioning the dangerous rates of carcinogenic emitted from the devices. There is no significant evidence to show that such wireless technology can impact our health in a negative way, but research and the studies regarding this continues. To be honest, I truly love my wireless devices, but I am still a little bit paranoid about this. While I am not entirely confident about it, I’ll try to keep my devices some distance away when I am not using them.

A majority of us have now switched to smartphones within those few years they have been around. We’ve also seen how today, having a cellphone is a necessity. But there is something that all men need to be aware of. Some individuals indicated that infertility may be caused by mobile phone among men. The logic behind these claims is rather easy. If a phone is put in or near your pant pockets, it will emit radiation that when sperms are exposed to they might be weakened or even killed. Now, while it’s a fact that prevention is much better than cure, I consider it’s a myth and am not completely convinced of this theory.

You will find Wi Fi connections in many dwellings, if you go to any developed or developing country in the entire world. Most folks think that the wireless transmission used for Wi-Fi is exclusive and its operation can only be interfered by other Wi Fi systems. But in fact, WiFi performance might be badly affected by other household appliances like the normal DECT telephone or microwave ovens. So, next time your Wi Fi is not reliable or not working properly, confirm if it isn’t placed too close to your DECT telephone or the microwave.

Now, there’s been a glut of new WiFi capable devices that have support for the new 5. 8GHz spectrum alongside with the normal 2. 4GHz spectrum. A lot of people incorrectly believe that 5. 8Ghz is better than 2. 4Ghz, it’s not automatically better like how moving away from the 900MHz formerly used by cellphones led to better speed. But while it’s technically wrong, it actually depends upon your definition of better. You see, 5. 8Ghz has been added as a potential spectrum, not because it is innately better but because 2. 4Ghz is getting incredibly overcrowded, resulting inferior signal strength. It is common to hear people saying that they discover their Wi Fi performance to be better when they changed to 5. 8GHz. The reason for this is actually the lesser amount of devices and individuals occupying this new frequency band.

It is true that wireless technology is changing the way we socialize and carry out our daily actions. But there are some individuals who misunderstand the wireless technology completely. I’ve merely discussed about my personal view on the matter I find fascinating, though a wireless expert myself am not me. My hope is that from this discussion that is simple, you are definitely going in order to separate myths and misconceptions about wireless technology from facts. And because my expertise in wireless technologies is a bit restricted, I could be incorrect about some of these problems so don’t hesitate to talk about your thoughts by dropping some remark below.
